"Le dernier Garde De Nord" the final words i heard from the Eurostar captain. Which means we're in........PARIS. Finally the time has arrived for me to step onto french soil. So...pictures in order starting from our 1st destination. The Louvre Museum....house of the world famous Mona Lisa.
The thing stuck on the floor which shows the North n South
The Louvre at night
The pyramid is the entrance into the Louvre
You could see the Eiffel Tower from there as well.
But that was 1 of the nights when we took a walk to the Louvre just for fun.
Of course we started in the morning and before that we had to warm ourselves up before some serious camwhoring awaiting us in the Louvre.
Fab, me, Sv, Jithan outside THE LOUVRE!
In the Louvre....this is what it looks like under the pyramid
1st we headed for hot chick number 1 in the Louvre which is Ms/Mrs Mona Lisa. She was located quite a distance away from the entrace..approximately 10-15min walk down halls and arches, bridges and doors. No pictures were allowed to be taken. Reason is....pro-painters will know the reason. The reason is that the flash from camera's will ruin the oil based paintings. So no pictures of mona lisa taken. She stood in the middle of a special hall. A hall with an entrance and an exit at the back. Mona Lisa was impressive but the security system built to protect her was even more impressive for me. Laser detectors, steel doors awaiting to shut down if anything were to happen, security guards, bulletproof glass divides her from the public, and noticing the way she was situated.....she could be lifted up...way up...to further prevent thieves. Now...how in the world is anyone suppose to steal her now? Not even Mr Ocean from Ocean's 11/12/13 could pull this off. So we headed for hot chick number 2 in The Louvre.
Unlike the conservative Mona......Ms Venus de Milo aka Goddess of love, beauty and lust is topless. She's remarkably amazingly beautiful to some ppl but she's not my type. I read somewhere where it's said they found her hands somewhere under the ocean where she was found years ago. The reason the hands weren't 'stuck' back into her was because it was ugly.....as if posing without hands was considered pretty...but anyway...there might also be another reason it wasn't connected back into her.....the next pic says it all....
Her hands must've been placed something like this...if not what else can it be doing?.......showing the middle finger? no i dont think greeks are that modern yet.....
Me admiring works of the great sculptures from the past millenium. Maybe earlier...
And along comes Fabian who tells me that this is all trash...paintings which he can do better and sculptures which he has hunkier body to compete with. So he told me to think about it.....think about what he said to me.........it never occured to me that he might be right after all. So what did i do?
I sat down and thought about what he said to me.
We passed paintings and sculptures....more and more we passed paintings...sculptures....they were everywhere....whatever thats going on in fabian's mind must've been like this..
Fabian's mind: "NOOO! not more trash....i can do better....i am hunkier"
through halls we entered and exit'ed were new halls awaiting to be discovered by our 5 man crew...4 guys and 1 girl to be specific. This place is HUGE!!! HOLY MACARONI CRAP FREAKING MASSIVE!!!
We entered another hall which stood quite an impressive statue of these 2 bulls.
just 2 bull sculptures
Sweat was pouring, feets were trembling....we needed to rest. We found a spot in the middle of the place and this was what was in front of me..just took it for fun.
Continuing on we were around the Egyptian part of the gallery.
There were 6 of these...but i could only get 2 in a pic. TOO big
Based on my logic thinking...this means that there were lions in Egypt
Moving on we stumbled upon something familiar. Something i've seen somewhere a long long time ago. Back during the days when we were still reading this book titled 'Sejarah'. It was the Kod Undang Undang Hammurabi. I didn't even know it was placed in the Louvre.
Explanation in french...
The 'THING' itself was in some ancient language as well....so i guess many people broke the law during those days. Actually now also......hehe
I had to take a pic of this FAT@$$ sarcophagus. Definitely only for obese people. How many of our sized people can it fit?
2??? try adding 1 more...
Just nice...3 ppl. Squeeze abit should be alright.
FINALE: the vertical triangle. Only Da Vinci Code readers/watchers will know what this is about. If not then there's no reason taking this pic at all.....
Its actually quite big....Those 2 at the bottom right there..sitted are Fabian n Sv sitting under the verticle triangle.....K-I-S-S-I-N-G. Wah...romantic-nya.
Thats all for The Louvre. So it was still in the afternoon when we came out. We had time on our side as it only gets dark around 9pm here in France....i love it!. So we headed to our next destination.........le Eiffel Tower!
Walking towards the eiffel tower which can be seen from a distance.
The Louvre is inside there. Behind us.
Bridges we crossed.
Still on the bridge.
A few hundred meters more before arriving at the Eiffel tower.
A few meters away from it still.
Crossing streets with heavy traffic, taking corners and overtaking slowmo tourists unlike us..fast paced tourists. We arrived at the foot of the famous tower like KL Tower is to Malaysia. The Eiffel Tower
The foot of the Eiffel Tower. Tour busses were everywhere. People were everywhere. Vendors trying their luck for a quick buck were everywhere. Pigeons eyeing for a quick meal were everywhere. My mind, soul and body.....was there.
Gazing up towards the blue sky, the peak of the tower could not be seen. Since we were already there. We decided to head to the HIGHEST floor of the Eiffel Tower. Let me explain. There are 3 floors. 1st 2nd and 3rd. The higher you go the more you pay. 1st floor was about 4Euro's, 2nd floor 7 euro's and the 3rd floor 11Euro's. So out came 11Euro's from my wallet. A lift had to be taken up to the top unless you opt to take the stairs which i would not recommend doing unless you're really too free.
2nd floor view from the tower.
3rd floor view from the tower.
In the Lift on the way up
Its packed with people up here.
Whats left at the top of the tower.
You see what i see? Definitely not...gotta pay to use this.
That was it for the 1st day. 2nd day was the greatest...it was time for my 1st Disneyland visit!!! Disneyland Paris. Unfortunately i dont have the pics. Fabian has most of them. I still have to get it from him. I'll continue with the other days.
1 of those days we visited the Arch.
Me and le Arch
Kenn, Fab, Jit and me
Then off we go for the next destination.........NOTRE DAME! the place where the legendary Hunchback of Notre Dame lives.
1 of the block of stones on the floor.
Was Notre Dame good???
yeah it was good...
Ultraman pose.
Till next time.......Disneyland post!
Bon Voyage!
